Shared With Me

Open a share link someone sent you and the item lands under Shared With Me, ready to reopen any time.

Shared With Me collects the items other people have handed you, so a link a colleague sent last week is still easy to find this week. It sits in the Explorer sidebar's Overview group, just below the Timeline, with a count of what it holds.

How an item gets here

When you open a share link someone sent you, that item is remembered and added to Shared With Me. Opening the link once is enough. Until you have opened one, the page says Nothing shared with you yet.

Opening a link to one of your own items doesn't add it, and items in your teams live in the team's library.

Shared With Me covers every liveworkspace app: choose All Apps at the top of the page to see a Canvas or a Document someone shared with you beside your designs.

Reading the list

Shared With Me is a table of its own, whichever view the rest of the Explorer is in:

  • Name, with a picture of the item. Click it to open the item on its share link, without digging the original link out of your messages.
  • Owner: whose item it is (hidden on a phone, to save room).
  • Role: Edit, Participate or View, the access the share link gives you.
  • Updated: when the item last changed (hidden on a phone too).

Type in the Explorer's search box to filter the list.

Removing an item

Click the × at the end of a row (Dismiss) and confirm, or choose Remove from Shared With Me in the item's ⋯ menu, when you are done with it. That only removes it from your list; it does not affect the item or anyone else's access. Open the share link again and it comes back.

The list only offers items you can still open: if the owner turns the link off, it runs out, or the item goes to the Trash, it drops off.

Guests and signing in

Shared With Me works without an account: the list is kept for your guest identity, which is the same in every liveworkspace app. Signing in carries it into your account.

Shared items stay separate from My Work: they are other people's items you have access to, not your own library, so they never clutter your folders. They do show up in Recent and in search.
